All articles report the Mullanphy Bank in St. Louis as having gone into the hands of a receiver in 1895 and discuss claimants seeking settlement in 1915โ1916. There is no mention of a run in these pieces; the bank was in receivership (i.e., closed) since 1895. I infer 'state' from the provided name 'Mullanphy Savings Bank' (savings banks were typically state-chartered). OCR variations of 'Kling/King' and minor spelling variants of claim amounts appear across reprints; the key fact (receiver in 1895) is consistent.
