CIRCUIT COURT

A divorce was granted Saturday to Edgar Owens from Ruby Owens, of Hopkins. This suit had been heard several days before but at that time was taken under advisement by the court. In this suit the plaintiff alleged he and his wife were married in Montgomery county, Iowa, August 23, 1919, and lived together until October 9, 1934. Owens, who is a carpenter living at Hopkins, was granted custody of four minor children, Marie, age 15; Raymond, 12; Loretta, 9 and Madelyn, 7.

The court also approved the applications of W. A. Blagg, special deputy commissioner of finance, to compromise bills receivable and charge of loss in six defunct banking institutions; the Gillam Loan and Trust Company and Farmers Trust Bank, both of Maryville; Citizens Bank of Graham; Farmers Bank of Parnell; Farmers and Merchants Bank of Hopkins and the Guilford Bank.β€”Maryville Forum.
