BANK RECEIVER APPOINTED FOR ALEXANDRIA Samuel C. Thompson, who was one of the candidates for county judge at the late primary, began his new duties as receiver for the old Alexandria State Bank, Monday of this week. Mr. Thompson was appointed by Judge Proudfit sitting at Nelson. He will succeed to a certain extent, the late Fred Jacques, who had been acting as agent for a depositors' committee. Under the new deal, a receiver is appointed with instructions to collect assets and wind up the affairs of the bank. This bank has nothing to do with the present State Bank of Alexandria which is a new organization which which is a new organization occupying the same building formerly used by the bank now being liquidated. Thompson will continue to reside in Fairbury while serving on his new job. He has had banking experience, being cashier of a bank at Fairfield, Nebr., a number of years ago.โ€”Fairbury Journal.
