REMOVED AS ATTORNEY. I The Court Objects to Mr. Reynolds Representing Receiver Barto. TACOMA, Dec. 31.-Special. - Judge Stalleup today removed W. P. Reynolds as attorney for Receiver Barto, of the Bank of Puyallup and named in his stead J. C. Leo. Reynolds has been the receiver's legal advisor since the bank failed. but recently he and the judge differed as to whether his fees should be paid out of the moneys collected before a dividend were declared. It appears that there was money enough to pay & small dividend. but this would leave nothing to pay the attorney. When the court ordered the distribution of the money among the creditors of the bank, Mr. Reynolds asked for an exception. This was refused by the court, but the attorney excepted anyway. This led to a sharp passage between the court and the attorney, which ended when the court today furtished Receiver Barto with a new lawyer. It is understood that Mr. Reynolds will carry his complaint to the supreme court.

RECEIVER'S AND COUNSEL'S PAY. Judge Stalleup Vacates His Ruling in the Puyallup Bank Matter. TACOMA, Jan. 6.-Special.Judge Stallcup today issued an order vacating his own order of December 31, which provided for the dismissal of Reynolds & Remington as attorneys for the receiver of the Bank of Puyallup and appointed John Leo in their stead. Reynolds & Remington are now reinstated, and allowed $625 for their past services. The court originally held that the $2,100 remaining as the final adjustment of the bank's affairs should go to the creditors, and not to the receiver, Fred D. Barto, and his attorneys, although the latter had worked two years without compensation. The receiver. however. is awarded, by the new order, $400 for his services, and $125 is ordered transferred to the estate of Attorney Shank, who was formerly connected with the case.
