Description

Articles report the First National Bank of Etowah, Tenn. closed in mid-1932 and a receiver was appointed. No article describes a depositor run; failure/closure followed by appointment of a federal receiver. There is a slight date inconsistency: The Aug 3, 1932 article says the bank closed last month (i.e., July 1932) and names a receiver; a Mar 2, 1933 article refers to the bank having closed last June (likely referring to June 1932 or imprecise phrasing). I use the Aug 1932 account for closure timing and treat the episode as a suspension/closure with receivership.
