NAMED AS BANK RECEIVER Allen A. McCurdy to Take Charge of lonia Institution. Allen A. McCurdy formerly head of the bond department of the Bank of Saginaw, yesterday was appointed receiver for the Ionia National bank. succeeding Alvah D. Cummings, who resigned yesterday as receiver for both the Ionia and the Hastings National banks. Mr. Crimmins' successor as receiver of the Hastings bank has not yet been named. He recently was indicted by the federal grand jury at Detroit on charges of alleged falsification or conspiracy to falsify bank reports.

HASTINGS CITY RETIRES LAST INDEBTEDNESS Cancels Final $2,000 Bonded Debt With Purchase From Bank. Hastings, July purchase $2,000 city bonds from the old Hastings National bank by the council retires the city's bonded indebtedness, members the council's finance committee announce. The bonds fell due several weeks ago and city had the money for their retirement in its sinking fund, but because the bank was receivership the sale was delayed. Attorney A. D. of Hastings, has received an appointment conciliation commissioner for Barry county authority. under the amended bankruptcy laws, to assist in compromises and extensions of time on debts for farmers who have made application for Federal Land bank The appointment made by Judge M. Raymond of the Donald has been secretary of the adjustment committee here since its organization. Funeral services for John Hulings, 65, died yesterday at his home Stony Point, Castleton township, will be held at o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Mr. Hulings had been ill for eight months previous to his death. was lifelong resident of Barry county. Surviving him. besides his wife. are Jasper Cooley, of Hastings; sister. Mrs. Mary McIn. near Hastings and two daughters, Mrs. Hastings, Mrs. W. Bullard. of Chicago. Last rites will at the home, with burial in Riverside cemetery. The Rev. Dewey officiate.
