A BASELESS REPORT.-Somebody, it has not been discovered who, nor with what motive, has circulated reports through the country towns, prejudicial to the soundness of the Portland Savings Bank, and for two days past depositors from the country have been drawing their funds from that institution. The "run" has not yet been very heavy, ard is far from causing any annoyance to the officers. Io this city no effect has been produced by this action, and it is so ridiculous and unfounded that the wonder is that any one should be so thoughtless in regard to the present condition of the money market as to give any credence to silly rumors. There haya been no failures or anything to create a panic, but on the contrary money is a drug in the market and there is no call for it. Investments are made with diff. culty, and banks are better off without capital in their vaults which can earn them nothing. THE RAILROAD DIFFICULTY.-The Portland, Saco & Portsmouth railroad company yesterday, in obedience to the terms of injunction served on Wednesday, granted the Boston & Maine corporation the requisite facilities for doing a through business, by bringing the trains in from South Berwick Junction and taking them out from Portland. An arrangement was made by the parties by which trains will leave Portland for Boston via the Boston & Maine, as follows: Leaving here at 6.15 and 9.20 a. m.; 3.30 and 3 45 p. m., and the evening express at 6.00 p. m., on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, returning on alternate days. It was rumored yesterday that application would be made by the P. S. & P. company for a dissolution of the injunction, but at 4 o'clock no notice had been given to the opposing party or petition filed for a hearing. I.O.O.
