# NEWS IN BRIEF. From the Baltimore Sun. Wednesday, January 20, 1891. Representative McKaig will today introduce a bill to refund to Frederick, Md., $200,000 exacted by General Early during the late war. Judge Burke, of Baltimore county, has prepared an act to be submitted to the Legislature limiting the sessions of the county grand jury. The trustees of the suspended banking firm of J. J. Nicholson & Sons do not think that any additional firms will be caused to suspend by the failure. Two attachments were sued out against the bank for the recovery of deposits. On December 30 a force of 2,000 Dahomeyans made an attack upon Kotonou, on the west coast of Africa, which is defended by a French garrison.
