LANE STATE BANK CLOSES ITS DOORS Thursday of last week the Citizens State bank of Lane was ordered closed by State Bank Commissioner Carl J. Peterson. The bank's trouble was on inability to collect loans. The losses will not exceed $25,000. The bank was chartered in 1895. It has capital of $10,000 and surplus of $8,000, the deposits at time of last statement being $111,000. Depositors are protected by the state guaranty fund. E. F. Abbott is president of the bank; Robert Sturgeon, vice president; S. D. Needham, cashier; B. B. Rowland, assistant cashier. Directors are: Mr. Abbott, Mr. Sturgeon, Mr. Needham, Kathereine Hylton, Eva B. Morris, Hattie A. Baker. Monday Commissioner Peterson stated: "There isn't a chance the bank at Lane will be reorganized."
