Cleveland, Miss., May 23.-The grand jury of Bolivar county today returned an indictment charging R. H. Williams, as president of the Bolivar County Bank, which was placed in the hands of a receiver last February, with the embezzlement of $11,000 of the bank's funds. The indictment was based upon the report of an expert accoutant who audited the books of the bank after the failure. B. W. Griffin of Indianola, who was at the time of the failure cashier, was fully exonorated by the grand jury. Immediately after the failure of the bank, and at the time of the arrest of the president, Mr. Griffin was at his own request, arrested and put under bond to await the action of the grand jury. It is only justice, however, to state that never at any time has any one ever thought or considered that Mr. Griffin was guilty of any misconduct whatever, and this opinion was corroborated by the written report of the accountant.-Corr Commercial Appeal.
