Former Green Bay Cashier Pleads Not Guilty to Charges Officer of Closed South Side State Bank Accused of Embezzlement of Funds Green Bay, Dec. Frank J. Slupinski, 33, former assistant cashier of the closed South Side State bank, pleaded not guilty when arraigned in municipal court late yesterday on charge of embezzling $1,000 of the bank's funds last June. The case was adjourned to January for hearing and bond was set $1,000. He permitted to sign his own bond. The complaint was signed by O. Houkum, examiner for the state banking department, who has been in charge the institution since it suspended business about a month ago. Specific Charge The specific charge on which the arrest made based an admission allegedly made by Slupinski after the bank closed that he was $1,000 short He had sent the bank's draft for $4,000 correspondent bank in Chicago, and had amount the books as $3,000, using the addi tional $1,000 to cover previous shortage in his cash, it is charged. When the draft came back, about the the business, the shortage was discovered.
