Dr. A. E. Boles reports that Mr. and Mrs. Marion Bloom took their son, Dick, to Fairbury this noon, where he will enter a hospital for medical treatment.

While engaged in closing a window at the Bank of Guide Rock, on Tuesday, Receiver George J. Adams fell from a ladder, receiving a badly bruised leg.

Elmer LaBerde of Caripito, Venezuela, South America, and Mrs. E. J. LaBorde of Gretna are expected here today to visit briefly with Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Cordes. Mr. LaBorde is employed as accountant for the Standard Oil Company at Caripito, and is a cousin of Mrs. Cordes.

A. B. McArthur, who for the past several weeks has been serving as an inspector at a State Port of Entry at Yankton, South Dakota, was the first of the week transferred to a Port at Omaha. Our friend Mc states that the Omaha port is a very busy place and much more to his liking than Yankton. He gives his Omaha address as Neville Hotel, which if named after Nebraska's former governor, of this name, should be a fitting place for a gentleman of Mc's caliber.

Miss Ruth Reames left Thursday for a month's visit with relatives and friends in Memphis and other Tennessee points.

Mrs. F. L. Phinney and daughter, Miss Madeline, of Houston, Texas, arrived here on Wednesday evening for a visit with the former's sister, Mrs. Stella King, at Inavale.

A picnic was held for Mr. and Mrs. Charley Lambrecht at their home Sunday in honor of their birthdays, one last week and one this week. Seventy-five relatives and friends were present. Most every family in the community was represented there besides many families from farther away. Ice cream was served in the afternoon.
