The Board of Supervisors this morning authorized County Controller Sherwood Bennett to make necessary repairs to the old Center Line Savings Bank building, provided the property can be leased as temporary headquarters for the proposed state police post.
A spokesman for Gov. Murray D. Van Wagoner last week assured Bennett that the state will establish a seven-man post in South Macomb if suitable quarters can be rented. The state will pay the rental provided the county pays the cost of converting the building, it was agreed.
Melvin Van Howe, receiver for the bank, has declined to give the county a definite answer because he claims the property may be sold.

Bank runs are almost always and everywhere a deterioration of bank fundamentals.
But not for you.
You are the measure-zero exception: great fundamental, solid bank, and yet the Diamond Dybvig fairy spread its rumor. Depositors woke up. Your collateral was not prepositioned. The Clearinghouse had it for you.
Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200. Go directly to jail… or worse.
