July 28 Now that it's all over with officials of the state banking department announced today that during the last two weeks $20,000,000 worth of negotiable securities and $114,000,000 worth of non-negotiable securities have been carted about the streets and highways between Indianapolis and Fort The transfer of the securities was made in an armored car with only on guard and as much $600,000 in securities was transported at one time. A law passed by the last legislature required that securities deposited with the state commission be insured Insurance companies declined to insure the securities if more than $4,000,000 was held in any one depository It was then necessary spread the securities among various depositories and banks at Indianapolis and Fort Wayne were selected.
