NOT MUCH CHANCE HERE Receivers for the defunct State Bank have started court action force Jerre Dowling return $29,266 unearned salary. Dowling. will be recalled. manded and received year's salary of and bonus before he entered upon his duties with the bank. The receivnow say they are willing to Dowling per month for the time he actually gave his president of the bank, but want him to refund the rest of the money. will probably take lot of court action to break Dowling loose from this money apparently very smart man, doubt has placed the money out of reach of the courts. salary of $34,000 for year's work president of an institution the size the Peoples State Bank seems of all reason. Now learn Dowling's salary was paid out of directors of bank were forced to borto meet certain obligations, cluding. of course. the president's retainer. is said the directors ired Mr. Dowling last bort, believing that by placing an official of big New York bank in charge of the Peoples State affairs, would be possible to borrow more money and perhaps weather the storm. Dowling, however, no doubt that the bank was deeply involved that its end but matshort months, and grabbed full year's salary and bonus advance. Why he was paid bonus no one has yet been able to explain. We hope the receivers will be to recover the due the bank by Dowling, but are afraid the day of miracles is past.

PEOPLES STATE BANK Receivers Establish Regional Offices for Liquidation of Business of Closed Banks The receivers of Peoples State decided lish four regional offices, and two local offices convenient places the state for the liquidation of affairs the branches of closed chain bank.
