Description

Multiple contemporaneous newspapers (Oct 14โ€“15, 1857) report the Louisville Savings Bank 'closed' or 'suspended' on Oct 14, 1857. The reports give no detail of a depositor run or any reopening; they emphasize the broader panic from New York bank suspensions (the Panic of 1857). Because the sources only report the suspension/closing and do not mention reopening or receivership, I classify this as suspension_closure but note permanence is not explicitly documented in these clippings.
