SUSPENDED BANKS SMALLEST IN STATE The Tucson Citizen says:-"The two Arizona banks which have failed recently are the smallest in the state and their failure did not even cause a a ripple in financial circles," said prominent local banker today. "The bank at Bowie had deposits of only $12,338.11 on October 1, 1914. It was the third smallest in the state. The bank at Parker had deposits of $7,926.18 on October 1, 1914, and was the second smallest. The deposits of "these banks were probably much smaller at the time they closed. No bank can be run at a profit on deposits in this amount. It takes at least $35,000 in combined capital and deposits to make a bank pay expenses and then the management has to watch loans carefully."
