# Harry Craft Makes an Assignment. Harry Craft, jeweler, the designation of whose business has, for several years, been in the name of Mrs. Flora W. Craft, assigned, yesterday, to L. M. Phipps. The day before a chattel mortgage for $2,700, in favor of Hiram J. Craft, was filed. It is said by the assignee that an accurate statement of the assets and liabilities cannot be given out until an inventory of stock is completed. The deed of assignment includes the residence property on North Alabama street, and two lots in North Indianapolis. Mr. Craft, in explanation of the course taken, said it was the culmination of his business difficulties four years ago. At this time Eichborg, of New York, a creditor, secured mortgages on the assignor's property, agreeing to carry the debt in this way until a final settlement could be perfected. The assignee of that assignment, I. N. Pattison, deposited the funds of the business in Harrison's Bank, which were swept away by the failure. Eichborg's mortgages maturing recently, he refused to grant extension. A shortage in holiday trade also contributed to Mr. Craft's embarrassments.
