BRIEF RUN ON A BANK. Fort Wayne First National Not Embarrassed by Withdrawals. Special to the Indianapolis Journal. FORT WAYNE, Ind., June 28.-The anticipated run on the First National Bank to-day, due to the complications in the affairs of the brass foundry and machine works, did not amount to much and at no time was the bank crowded. The run commenced at 9 o'clock and lasted two hours and was confined to small depositors, and at no time did the run assume anything like a serious aspect. More cash was deposited during the run than was taken out. The First National had offers of assistance from many sources, including the other banks, which were declined. The White National Bank announced early in the day that it would cash all certificates of deposit of the First National if the holders were delayed by others ahead of them at the windows. This afternoon many of the frightened depositors returned their money and the bank has proven its stability.
