Description

The Citizens State Bank of Crothersville failed in September 1923 and was placed in receivership (Union State Bank as receiver). Subsequent articles (1925–1926) discuss receiver actions, distributions to depositors, sales of real estate, lawsuits involving the receiver, and final reporting — indicating the bank remained closed and in receivership rather than reopening. The contemporary articles do not describe a depositor run triggering the failure, nor do they give a clear cause for the failure, so cause is set to 'other'.
