Twogood & Elliott's banking house at Marion, Iowa, suspended yesterday; liabilities, $150,000; assets unknown. C Byron H. Robb was yesterday in1 dicted, at Cincinnati, by the grand ; jury for using the mails to carry on a fraudulent scheme. Business Embarrassments BOSTON, October 24.-The Bay State Iron Company, of this city, being financially embarrassed, held a meeting yesterday, at which it was proposed to convey all its property to three trustees in behalf of the creditors, who are to carry on business not exceeding two years. The proposition is now under considera. tion. The liabilities of the company are $501,626; assets $1,279,727. Sr. LOUIS, October 24.-The Bunker Hill Bank. at Bunker Hill, Illinois, is closed. Its liabilities to depositors are said to be $60,000. The bank officers say they can show $75,000 assets. Manufacturing Company Embarrassed. BOSTON, Octouer 24.- - The Bay State Iron Company, of this city, being finan> cially embarrassed, held a meeting yesterday, at which it was proposed to con vey all the property to three trustees, on behalf of the creditors, who are to carry on the business, not exceeding two years. The proposition is now under consideration. The liabilities of the company are $501,626, and the assets $1,279,727. CHICAGO, October 24.-The Times' Marion, (Iowa), special says: Twogood & Elliot's banking house, one of the oldest in the State, suspended to. day. Liabilities are fully one hundred and fifty thousand dollars. Assets unknown. Quite an excitement prevails.

This will impart strength, and the beginning of the return of his appetite. The Run on a New York Savings Bank-Commencement of con. nolly's Trial. NEW YORK, Oct. 24. The run continues on the Union Dime Savings Bank, payments of one hundred dollars and less being made. Twenty seven thousand dollars were paid out yesterday. It is reported that if the run is not soon checked the National Banks will unite in measures for the protection of savings banks. A struck jury has been ordered in the suit of the State against 6X Comptroller R. B. Connolly for ten million dollars. A Swindler Held to Bail in Boston. BOSTON, Oct. 24. Chas. S. Garniss, of Garniss & Co., dealers in dyes, indigo, etc., is held in thirty thousand dollars' bail on a charge of cheating the Collateral Loan Company out of three thousand dollars. Garniss' operations consist of obtaining loans on indigo by false invoices. Indicted for Fraud. CINCINNATI, Oct. 24. Byron H. Rabb was yesterday indicted by the GrandJury for using the mails to carry on a fraudulent scheme. Rabb is the manager of the United States Secret Service Company, Monifor Manufacturing Company and the Queen City Glass and Lamp Company. Another Bank Suspension. ST. LOUIS, Oct. 24. The Bunker Hill Bank, nt Bunker Hill, Illinois, closed on Monday last. The liabilities to depositors are said to be $60,000. Charges of the misapplication of funds is alleged as the cause of the suspension. A New King of the Turf. PIMLICO, Md., Oct. 24. In the third race of two and a half miles, Parole was the winner; Tenbroeck second, Ochiltree third. Time, 4373/4.

THE WEST. ST. JOSEPH, Mo., voted, on the 26th, to transfer the city stock in the bridge at that point to the Union Pacific railroad, provided the terminus of the road is made at St. Joseph. THE superintendent of the Braidwood, III., coal mines has offered to pay the miners all the money due them if they will resume work at 95 cents per ton. This is an important concession, but unless a conclusion is soon reached, the old miners will all be gone. About 75 left for Iowa October 26th. THE removal of the Indians from the neighborhood of Red Cloud Agency to the vicinity of the Missouri river, began on the 24th inst. They are escorted by Capt. Lawson's and Lieut. Cumming's companies of the third cavalry. No dissatisfaction is evinced by the Indians; on the contrary all move harmoniously. The march will be a long and tedious one, probably occupying a month. EMERSON, assistant superintendent of the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad, at Quincy, III., has been made general manager of the Hannibal and St. Joe road, under the new receiver. THE members of the Des Moines bar have declared that Cate's charges of corruption against Judge Dillon are wholly baseless.
