QUEEN'S WELL By far the most spectacular duction of the high school speech department last evening when the Dramatic club presented Queen's brilliant three-act comedy by Robert Emet Sherwood. Dick Shirk, in the title role of King Eric VIII, give one of the most outstanding performances of his dramatic career. As the figure hend king this imaginary kingdom he added those he has given in the past. His clever interpretation the witty lives brought many laughs from the audience. Elaine Bjorklund. the dominecring Queen Martha, gave an exceptional the haughty "power behind the throne." Grace Abel as the lovely PrinAnne gave very realistic and charming of the royalty who wanted to he person Playing opposite her. Edward O'Brien added additional interest romentic love affair loyalty and common retary. Although Edward is new figure. he has already secured place himself with the local Phipps. the distinctly "royal" butler played checkers with the king. was very splendidly takend Robert Anderson. Robert in his brothers footstore and is filling athem very credible. John Masterpole as the blustering General Northrup was particularly in his uniform and exceptional acting. Albort Phillips ns Lord Bertin, the foreign minister. kept up the Phillips tradition with honor. The other parts: Prince William. Howard Risk; Fillman, George Kerwin: Mayor Blent. Leslie Roberts: Sergeant, Charles Harper: Retty Lockee: Second Eleanor Bjorkhind: Petley.
