Although Edward is new figure. he has already secured place himself with the local Phipps. the distinctly "royal" butler played checkers with the king. was very splendidly takend Robert Anderson. Robert in his brothers footstore and is filling athem very credible. John Masterpole as the blustering General Northrup was particularly in his uniform and exceptional acting. Albort Phillips ns Lord Bertin, the foreign minister. kept up the Phillips tradition with honor. The other parts: Prince William. Howard Risk; Fillman, George Kerwin: Mayor Blent. Leslie Roberts: Sergeant, Charles Harper: Retty Lockee: Second Eleanor Bjorkhind: Petley. Tun Voelker all added their part to the production whole in very recommendable The new very pretty and showed considerable work. Mr. Bert John Masterpole, Dominic Alello, Tna Voelker, Howard Risk. COURT REFUSES E. R. O'BRIEN'S PETITION E. R. O'Brien. Oelwein attorney. presented yesterday to Judge Eichendors a petition signed by D. W. Rates, state superitendent of banking. requesting that the four lawyers now acting as attorneys for the receiverships of closed banks in Fayette county be removed from their places and that Mr. O'Brien be appointed in their stead to bandie all five banks. Judge Eichendorf refused to make the order. saying that all attorneys now in those posts are familiar with the conditions in their respective banks. and that all are handling their work satisfactorily, SO that to remove them on account of their polities would be to make a political football of the bank situation. Before coming 10 hold court here Judge Eichendorf refused to make a change in Clayton county, where he was asked to remove D. W. Meier of Monona as attorney for a bank at Garnavillo. It is understood that judge recently removed tour or five Independence attorneys and gave the bank receiver attorneyships held by all of them to R. O'Brien of Independence The attorneys and the banks they represent in Fayette county are as follows: E. B. Shaw. State of Bank of Oelwein: L. H. Sanford. Aetna State bank. Oelwein: M. M. Cooney, Wadena Savings bank and State Bank of West Union: Mildred F. Crawford. State Bank of West Union and Randalia Savings bank. Mr. O'Brien stated that in order to qualify to handle the business of all five receiverships he had withdrawn from all cases in which he was appearing as attorney against any or the closed banks. The four attorncys for closed banks in Fayette county are all Republicans, while Mr. O'Brien is Democrat A flurry was caused when after Mr. O'Brien had filed the petition with Clerk Edgar A. Trueger. had presented it to Judge Eichendorf and had been refused the action requested. The petition found not to be on file either with the court or with the clerk.
