R. F. c. LISTS LOANS IN IOWA $515,000 for Needy Aid Granted in April. WASHINGTON D. C. (AP)Loans totaling $5,782,442 to Iowa institutions were authorized by the Reconstruction Finance Corp. during April, the corporation reported Thursday. The state of Iowa was lent $515,300 for relief on Governor Herring's application. The largest loan was $4,368,597 to the Regional Agricultural Credit Corp. at Loans in Detail. The list of Iowa loans was as follows for April: Amber Savings bank, Amber. $7,000 (x): Lee County Savings bank, Fort Madison, $35,000 (x) Menlo Savings bank, Menlo, $22.000: Monticello State bank. Monticello, $120,000 (x): Russell State bank. Russell, $14,845 (x) Farm ers Savings bank. Wever, $20,000 Dike Savings bank, Dike. reinstated loan for $25,000 previously canceled. $515,000 for Relief. Guaranty Life Insurance company of Davenport, $220,000; Burlington Joint Stock Land bank Des Moines, $425,000 (x): Regional Agricultural Credit Corp., Sioux City, $4,368,597: lent Iowa at gov. ernor's application for emergency relief. $515,300 (x): lent Monte$9 700 (x). Bank Demands Drop. An April drop in the demands by the federal government for financial aid by banks over the nation a whole was reported by the corporation. The report for that month showed. too. decrease in total loans. In March the month of the bank holiday, loans authorized by the corporation for business and relief amounted to $233,195,000 The report for April totaled only $195,582,000 There was however, an April increase in relief loans to the states In March these totaled $32,360,000 and in April $49,423, 000. More for Liquidation. Ten times as much went in April to aid in the liquidation or reorganization of closed banks The March total for this classification was $4,196,000 and that for April $46,756,000 The total bank loans authorized in April by states included 845; Kansas, $7,002: Michigan $136,806.
