The Planters. Bank of Parrott Will Liquidate Depositors and Creditors Are Notified To Call for Settlement. The Planters Bank of Parrott, through its president, Marvin D. Pierce, gives notice elsewhere in The News that it will liquidate, and depositors are notified to withdraw their deposits and creditors are requested to present their claims for payment. This action on the part of the bank officials is voluntary, and is in compliance with a request of its founder, the late J. W. Tilley. The Planters bank was established in 1912, and has been unusually successful. It has enjoyed the distinction of having the largest deposits of any bank in Terrell county, and has contributed very materially to the progress and development of Parrott and surrounding section. With the closing of the bank southwest Georgia will lose one of its best and most successful financial institutions.
