Two of the Closed Banks In Georgia Are Reopened Atlanta, Ga., July 23 (AP) - Two small banks in Georgia which closed a week ago after the bankruptcy proceedings against the Bankers' Trust company opened for business yesterday. Only one of them, however, was a member of the Bankers' Trust company chain of which more than 80 suspended activities after the suspension of business by their fiscal agent. Solicitor John A. Boykins during the day received permission from Judge Samuel H. Sibley of the federal district court for investigators from his department to examine the books of the Bankers' Trust company which now are in the hands of receivers. The two banks which reopened today were the Farmers and Merchants bank of Gordon, Ga., and the Lakewood bank, Atlanta, suburban institutions. The Farmers and Merchants bank was a member of

GEORGIA BANKS REOPEN. Two of Chain Had Suspended Activities Week Ago. By the Associated Press. ATLANTA, July 23-Two small banks in Georgia which closed a week ago, after the bankruptcy proceedings against the Bankers' Trust Co., opened for business yesterday. Only one of them, however, was a member of the Bankers' Trust Co. chain, of which more than 80 stopped activities after the suspension of business by their fiscal agent. Meanwhile two investigations of the Bankers' Trust Co.'s affairs moved forward, one by a Fulton grand jury and the other by investigators of Solicitor John A. Boykins' department. The two banks which reopened were the Farmers and Merchants' Bank of Gordon, Ga., and Lakewood Bank, Atlanta suburban institution.
