THREE TEX. BANKERS ARE HELD FOR TRIAL HOUSTON, Sept. 30.-Following a preliminary hearing before United States Commissioner A. L. Jackson, H. J. Boiton and B. I. Taylor, officials of the First National bank of Wharton were bound over to await the action of the federal grand jury Thursday afternoon. Their bonds were fixed at $15,000 each, the same amount as previously and bail was furnished. National Bank Examiner C. W. Foster, who testified regarding alleged excessive loans which were made by the defendants in violation of the statute R. J. Wright, formerly cashier and now acting as assistant to the receiver, testified regarding entries which were made in the books of the bank. State Treasurer J. M. Edwards testified regarding the issuance of a school warrant for $7,300 which it is said was not credited to the school funds and no record made. of where it went.
