BONDING FIRM MUST PAY BANK'S RECEIVER $54,000 A jury in Superior Judge Walter T. Stanton's court yesterday awarded Charles Bainbridge, as receiver for the North Town State bank, verdict of $54,000 against the U. S. Fidelity and Guaranty company. The company wrote blanket bond on all employรฉs of the bank, which failed April 13, 1931. The receiver's claim was for alleged fraudulent withdrawals from the bank by its president, Olaf A. fictitious it was Under charged, Christensen borrowed $70,000 which he used in connection with of other banks which he operations headed. Judge Stanton instructed Attorney J. L. Fox, for the jury that the receiver, had submitted proof of withdrawals of $50,000, and the verdict was for that amount, plus interest. Christensen and Walter T. Larsen, who was cashier of the North Town Devon avenue, near bank, on State Western, were indicted for embezzle after trial without jury ment but Philip L. Sullivan, were before Judge acquitted last December.
