BANK RECEIVERS OUSTINGS ARE EXPECTED SOON Action is expected shortly to remove at least two receivers from the five closed state banks in Cook county not yet brought under the control of William L. O'Connell, general receiver in State Auditor Edward J. Barrett's consolidation plan. John M. Thomson was ousted as receiver of the Kenwood State bank last Monday, after a court joust in which Circuit Judge John Prystalski held that the state auditor has the sole power of naming receivers. John A. Carroll, militant critic of loop bankers and of the Barrett-O'Connell administration, is expected to be the next to feel the ax. He is receiver for the South Side Savings Bank and Trust company. Also slated for removal is J. E. Sullivan, in charge of the Garfield State bank's liquidation. Carroll, former head of three south side banks which now are closed, is expected to put up a battle against his removal. Sullivan is not expected to contest the issue, however, and it was reported last week that he has been offered a position in the county treasurer's office upon relinquishing his post.
