We are peculiarly gratified in being en abled to communicate to our readers the pleasing news of our city banks having made such arrangements as will enable them to resume specie payments on the 20th inst. : and we are happy in being able to add, that the Farmers' Bank," in this town, willactsimultaneously with those banks. Those whose confidence in our bank was not the strongest, can want no further proof of the respectabili. ty of the institution. It must be pleasing to the farmer and tradesman, that, altho specie payments were suspended, and of necessity on our part, this institution, by the able management of its concerns, can and will co-operate with the most respectable of our city bankss.
