Bank Fatiure. PITTSBURG, PA., Oct. 8.-A Post Altoona, Pennsylvania, special says the Mechanics bank of that city closed its wors to-day. No notice was posted on the doors, butit was subsequently learn ed that the withdrawal of large sums, precipitated A suspension. No statement of assets or liabilities can at present be ascertained. It is thought, however, but the concern will be able to pull through. The other banks here are solid and ready to meet any anticipated ruh of small depositors to morrow.
