Description

Newspaper articles (Nov 27–28, 1929) report that First State Bank of Terlton was among twelve Oklahoma state banks that failed to open their doors after the death of H. A. McCauley, who had interests in the banks. The closing is presented as an immediate administrative/ownership shock; the articles mention some banks might reopen, so I classify this as a suspension (temporary closure) with likely reopening. There is no mention of depositor runs, receivership, or permanent failure in these clippings.
