Pufahl, receiver for the Hugo National and City National banks, of Hugo, the First National bank of Boswell, and McCurtain county banks at Idabel, Broken Bow and Haworth, has been notified by the comptroller of the currency to take charge of the affairs of the First National Bank Clarksville, Arkansas, 60 miles east of Fort Smith. The transfer will become effective November 30. He will be relieved of his duties here and in McCurtain county by Jeff D. Hooker. Mr. Pufahl came here from Julesburg, Colorado, on March 9, 1928, succeeding Roy A. Cooper, deceased, as receiver for the two Hugo banks and the Boswell bank. He was subsequently placed in charge of the three McCurtain county banks. Affairs of the Hugo National and City National banks are now in process of final liquidation and it is anticipated that the remaining assets will be sold at public auction at an early date. It is estimated that final dividends in the aggregate sum of $60,000 will be paid by the Hugo and Boswell banks before the receiverships are closed.
