BANKS RESTORE CONFIDENCE IN TOLEDO Toledo, Ohio, August 18-Larger Toledo banks restored confiidence in their depositors today by opening early and promising to remain open late to take care of the last customer who might want to withdraw their money. Backed up by $11,000,000 in currency sent here by the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland and other millions available, the banks opened as much as an hour and a half before their usual time this morning. The crowds of patrons fell off as compared with yesterday, when four banks failed to open doors for business, Bankers expressed belief the situation would clear up as soon as depositors were convinced they would have their money if they wanted it. One more suburban bank was closed by its officers today. This institution. the State Savings Bank of Maumee. listed deposits as of June 30 $422,766.24 and total resources at $514,000, with capital at 25.000.
