The greater number of those withdrawing deposits are women of the poorer classes who have small deposits. Well to do citizens are depositing. The bank is able to meet all demands. Consideration of the civil service bill was resumed, and after a 39 to 5. lengthy discussion the bill passed by a voteof The House was called to order by Speaker Keifer. No quorum present. Brutal Exhibition-Prize-Fight Between Two Colored Women. New YORK, December 27th.-Two regularly-trained heavy-weight colored female batpugilists last evening toed the mark and tered each other around the historic ring to the Queensbury rules. Bessie Williams, when down to her fighting weight, turns the beam at 290 pounds, while Jeeephine Green, husin her clothes, weighs 280 pounds. The bands of both ladies are experts at the manly art. and have taught their housewives how to defend themselves otherwise than by the tongue. For some time past every effort to bring the amszons together and settle the question of superiority has been tried with of out success ; but eventually a number porting men, with Billy McGlory at their for head, succeeded in getting up a match $20 a side and the colored lady championship, They had a bloody, brutal. vicious fight, and during its progress both locked like spotted tigresses. Finally Bessie got in a righthander on Josephine's nose, and knocked her out. A large crowd witnessed the scandalous proceedings. Another Prize Fight. PITTSBURG, December 27th.-Reisenhausen and Gilson, who fought a prize fight near Rechester, P2. last which was declared draw, fought again to-day at Newcastle, a Pc At the end of the twentieth round Gilson failed to come up, and Reiseahausen was declared the winner. Both men were terribly beater, and had to be carried off the grounc. blers. Shooting Affray Among Colorado Gan-LEADVILLE, December 27.h.-Tc- day a fatal shooting affray occurred is St. Ann's Rest, a gambling-house Matt. Wells, a gambler, previously had a difficulty with John Kerr, a faro dealer, which was augmented by one Felory, another faro dealer, between whom and Wells there had been an old feud, and who carried the talk of each to the other. This morning at 10 o'clock Wells went into St. Ann'a Rest, called for a drink, and seeing Felory threw the glass and contents in his face. Subsequently Felory met Wells on the etreet and knocked him down. Smarting under the infliction, and halfcrazed with liquor, Wells procured a revolver, returned to Sr. Ann's Rest, and seeing Kerr, commenced firing. Kerr returned the tire, but shot wild. Both emptied their revolvers, when Kerr fell, mortally wounded. Wells was immediately arrested. Two bystanders -Hunt, another gambler, and Conlor. 60 years of age-received severe wounds. Kerr died this afternoon at 2:30. Killed in a Bagnio. PITTSBURG, December 27th.-This morning at 1 clock James Clark shot and killed his wife in a Sixth-avenue bagnic. UNIONTOWN (Pa.), December 27th.-The excitement over the Nut tragedy is unabated. The feeling agaiest Dukes is intense, and would require but a slight agitation to cause a lawless outbreak. New developments of throw aspersiona against the character Captain Nutt's daughter in Dukes' letters. Some of these letters will be produced at the trial. Robbed and Murdered. SALEM (III.), December 27th.- On Sunday morning the mangled body of S. F. Warren was picked up on the railroad track. The Coroner's jury decided that he was robbed by White and H. Tucker, beaten and left on the tr ck, a killed him. White struck Samuel insensible and where and Tucker train have been arrested, but will say nothing yet.

RUN ON A ROCHESTER BANK. ROCHESTER, N. Y., Dec. 27.-There was quite a run on the Monroe County Savings Bank to-day. Persons withdrawing deposits are women and the laboring class. A good many are depositing. The bank can have $2,000,000 withdrawn and be better off, and that amount It has invested in Government securities.
