Dr Andrus and Mr. and Mrs. Jess returned to Rifle Wednesday evening. after having gone Spanish Forks, Utah. attend the funeral of Dr. Andrus' sister. Mr. and Mrs. Hansen and Mr. and Mrs. Dick Hansen of Divide creek were Rifle visitors Thursday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Fremont Dixon of Piceance creek were business visltors in Rifle Thursday Miss Emma Conti of the local telephone spent Wednesday in New. Castle visiting relatives. C. H.-Durant and Frank Haley were business visitors in Glenwood Springs Wednesday. Mrs. Raymond Mahaffey and infant son of Grand Valley were visitors the Dr. Sands home in Rifle Thursday. Wallace Tillotson of the Public Service Company of Grand Junetion is spending about ten days in Rifle the service the local office of the Public Service Co. The Armistice dance given Tuesday night by the American Legion at the Rex theatre was very successful affair, with large attendance from surrounding towns. Just as we surmised. the town streets which should have had some attention along make them passable are pretty much sea of mud with the first moisture we have had in some time. Guess must have street department but we have failed to see them function for some time. The paved portions of our streets are really in better shape after the snowfall than before, as they were so dusty and dirty that when little wind came up one nearly bound to be choked. but now that we have the dust least is settled. would seem that with paved streets in the business distriet that some program of keeping them clean would be worked out 80 that the merchants wouldhave to keep on dusting crew all day. Mrs. Ed Kinman returned to her homo Rifle Saturday after spending the past week as the house guest of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Trudeau of Glen Rulac.
