ITEMS OF INTEREST Gleaned From County Newspapers And Other Exchanges John Laudenschlager, well known Wahoo resident, was instantly killed Sunday Jan. 10, when he was trapp od on the Sand Creek bridge north of Wahoo and struck by the Union Pacific motor before he could get out of the way of the approaching ransport. At the annual meeting of the stockholders of the First National Bank of Wahoo held in the bank last Tuesday evening the board of directors selected the following officers for the coming year: E. E. Placek, president, Ed Lehmkuhl, vice president, L. J. Kudrna, vice president. Ernest Hanson. cashier, J. L. Kudrna: assistant cashier. John G. Johnson, of David City, critically ill at the David City hospital, was given a blood transfusion Monday morning in effort to save his life. Mr. Johnson's daughter-in law, Mrs. Walter Johnson, of Dwight whose blood test showed adaptability, was the donor of the blood Mr. Johnson showed slight improvement following the transfusion. Upon action of its officers and directors the Farmers State Bank of Rising City was closed Monday, Jan 11 and turned over to the department of trade and commerce. State Bank Examiner L. I. Halsted is in charge. The capital stock is $30,000, surplus $8,500 and deposits about $260,000. The officers are President D. J. Smith, Vice President L. O. Stoker and Cashier J. F. Bates.

BANK REOPENED The Farmers State Bank, Rising City, Nebraska, reorganized, recapitalized and made solvent by stockholders and depositors, reopened for business July 12. The bank suspended January 11, 1932. The bank has a capital stock of $30,000.00 and surplus of $6,000.00. The officers are as follows: D. J. Smith, President, George Dechert, Vice-President and H. F. Garhan, Assistant Cashier. The plan of reorganization contemplates the ultimate payment of depositors in full.
