Society News Mr. and Mrs. H. Mills Sr entertained 2 tables of Hi-Five at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Landa. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Corl, Mr. and Mrs. H. Mills, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Ray Duryea, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Landa and Mr. and Mrs. G. Burr. A lovely lunch was served at the close of the evening by the host and hostess. The M. T. M. Bridge Club was entertained by Mrs. Ralph Landa Wednesday night. The guests were: Mesdames Harlan Wheeler, Ray Duryea, Fred Taylor, E. D. Bayles, George McLean, Jack Woods, C. O. Conor, Dora Watkinson, Alva Gordon, Frank Powers, R. W. Lape and A. Vaughn. Mrs. Bayles won the prize for high score. A delicious lunch was served. Real Estate Transfers May 20-Swan A. Frank Raine and Clyde Towns went to Broken Bow on business on Thursday. That's the Spirit The spirit of friendliness so prevalent at the Farmers banquet to the business men Tuesday night and so wide spread in Dawson county is even found among the lower animals. The little Bull dog at the New Model Laundry with both hind legs broken and back bent from being run over by an automobile is as friendly as can be. He can't even walk like other dogs, but must use both hind legs at once for a sort of a hop. This little fellow is teaching humans a lesson in cheerfulness under adverse circumstances. Miss Helen Linville was shopping in Kearney Thursday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. H. Ahrens of Eddyville were Lexington visitors Thursday. H. W. Shubert, Roy Wells, and Frank Beran went to Buffalo on business Friday, H. W. Shubert and Roy Wells transacted business in Gothenburg Thursday. Mrs. John Maher and son Earl, visited friends in Cozad Thursday afternoon. J. C. Haley and F. S. Thornberg of Overton transacted business in Lexington Thursday. Martin Baumgartner of Kearney, transacted business in Lexington Friday night. Dr. and Mrs. G. V. Reynolds and children will arrive home today from Lincoln. Miss Florence Frates of Brule, Nebraska, is visiting with her sister, Mrs. Harold Kirkpatrick for a few days. Mrs. John Dallas, who lives north of this city underwent an operation for the removal of her tonsils Wednesday morning at the City General hospital. Miss Kathleen Delahunty of Douglas Wyoming arrived Thursday to attend the funeral of her grandfather. Miss Delahunty expects to leave the latter part of the week for Kearney where she will attend summer school at the State Teachers College.
