May Court Term JUDGE HASNER TO PRESIDE; 13 NEW LAW CASES FILED Woman Asks Damages from City for Fall on Ice Coated Sidewalk. (Courier Special Service) Manchester, Ia.β€”The May term of the Delaware district court opened at Manchester Monday with Judge Ralph W. Hasner of Independence on the bench. No jury will be summoned for this term, which is comparatively a light session. There are 13 new law actions filed; 16 new entries on the probate docket; and a similar number of new equity entries. On the law and equity docket four divorce and one separate maintenance actions are included, as follows: Vivian L. Logan vs. Glenn H. Logan, Frank C. Brown vs. Bernice Brown, Alice J. White vs. Vernon White, Laura L. Ross vs. Loren J. Ross, divorces; and Emma W. Schenke vs. John B. Schenke, separate maintenance. Six actions are for foreclosures; two are for chattel mortgages; seven are actions over notes; one for garnishment; two over settlement of accounts; one for rent; one each for receivership, damages, and breach of obligations, and two partition actions. Seeks Property Accounting. Among the last actions filed were the following: Emma Randle, admx., estate Herman B. Randle, vs. Standard Auto Parts company, W. W. Matthews, agent, vs. J. G. Lewis, an action for some $1,300 in alleged rent due for local store building and sum allegedly due on promissory note. D. W. Bates, receiver Delaware County State bank, vs. Victor L. Collard and others, asking that Collard be required to account for all property he owns and surrender same to be applied on a judgment secured by the bank; also that receiver be appointed to take charge of real estate at issue now in the possession of J. H. Zahren and wife. Delhi Savings bank vs. W. B. Willard, suit to collect $2,828.24 on alleged promissory note, unpaid. Ada, wife of Frank Noyes of Manchester, sues the city of Manchester for $200 for injuries allegedly suffered in fall on icy sidewalk. Equitable Life Assurance society of New York, suit for $13,502.93 and foreclosure action on 200 acres of Adams township land against David A. McElligott and others. L. A. Chaplin, Hopkinton, sues McNeil Bros. of that place for $6,817.25 on 10 unsecured promissory notes allegedly issued during last six years; and against H. J. McNeill for $1,755.30 on promissory note in separate action. D. W. Bates, received State bank of Edgewood, seeks to foreclose mortgage on property in Edgewood owned by R. J. Bixby and others for sum of $1,564.17. Ask Note Settlement. John and Anna House sue Leo H. and Lucy M. White on promissory note with interest amounting to $1,730.59. L. A. Andrew, superintendent of banking, vs. Delaware County State bank. Receiver authorized to accept $2,000 in compromise settlement of notes for $2,680 given by T. J. and Isabel Hill, payment to be made in cash and bonds of the Federal Farm Mortgage corporation. Chas. E. Cawley, agent, vs. William N. and Gladys A. Briggman. Foreclosure action on Lot 46 of Henry Acers' addition to Manchester, amount involved being $954.53.
