NEBRASKA FALLS CITY, Neb., Nov. 17.-Harve Foelinger, a Falls City boy, was struck by a train in South Dakota and instantly killed. COLUMBUS-Cnris Smith was found dead on the sidewalk on Eleventh street, the result of the excessive use of liquor. Very few farmers would leave the cornfields to listen to Colonel Bryan at Humphrey. The train from here in the morning carried only fifty, and the train from Norfolk did not have more than six passengers for Humphrey. BERTRAND-The First State bank of Bertrand did not suspend cash payments during the flurry. Conditions are favorable here. STELLA-M. Brenner of Humboldt has bought the interest of Will Pearson in the Nebraska meal mills. The firm name will be Wixon & Brenner. The Stella Electric Light company has closed a contract with the city for street lighting for a term of years, and will be. gin at once the work of installing the plant. The power will be furnished by the meal mills. John Brenner of Humboldt with be the electrician. The plant probably will be in operation by January 1. OSCEOLA-L. A. Beltzer, deputy sheriff, tracked Patrick Murphy to York and brought him back to Osceola. Patrick had stolen a wagon at Stromsburg that belonged to John Peterson. He pleaded guilty and was fined $25. HERMAN-There is considerable Herman property changing hands, in the last few days. James Harrison has sold about ten acres of his land that adjoins town, on the north, to different parties for building sites at $275 per acre.
