Multiple court summons across 1916–1919 repeatedly refer to the Bank of Minot as a defunct corporation and to A. B. Guptill as receiver. The items show the bank had failed and a receiver was appointed; no newspaper text in these clippings describes a depositor run prior to suspension. Cause of suspension is not described in detail in the clippings; receiver assignment (court action) is evident.

Minot Lumberman Indulges in Rhyme E. E. Emmerson, well known Minot lumberman, sat down one evening and wrote a little jingo about the war. He went south on business, Mrs. Emmerson ran across the copy and handed it to the Independent. Mr. Emmerson will probably be real angry when he finds it in print, but he's SJ far away that it won't do him any particular good. Here it is: The war in France is over, The boys are coming home. Each message from across the sea Takes on a brighter tone. Our President went "over there" To help those Allied Peers Dish up a dose for Kaiser Bill That will hold the "Hun" for years. We have no fears 'twill be "too light" For that could never stand, Old Germany will have "pay" For the deeds of he r "bloody hand". The Belgian crime must be wiped out If such a thing can be. And all things be restored to them From the Frontier to the Sea. The French must have Alsace-Lorain: Their land must be rebuilt. The Germans led by lust and greed Must answer for the Kaiser's guilt. In Italy the tyrant's hand Fell hard along the Triest Piave But now the Haughty Austrian Host Must pay for her allied knave, Poor Servia trampled under foot And driven from her borders No longer fears the Austrian Hordes Nor takes the Kaiser's orders. We're not afraid that Germany And her allied, murderous bunch, Will ever be in shape again. Ho deliver a punch. For Mr. Wilson's on the job, With four well-versed advisers, An d when the "new map" of Europe is drawn There'll be no place for Kaisers. State of North Dakota, ounty of Ward SS. In District Court.
