Bank Examiners in Charge. Bank examiners from the corporation commission took charge of the affairs of the Planters Bank and Trust company at Pineville and the commission announced the appointment of a receiver for the Farmers and Merchants Bank of Elkin. Alex Chatham, of Elkin, will be receiver for the Elkin bank. So far as is known here, this bank will be closed but there is some hope for saving the Pineville institution. Information about bank troubles is not the easiest thing to get now.
