STATE NEWS War is being waged by the El Paso county authorities upon gamblers and Colorado City's "knights of the green cloth" are either in jail or traveling for their health. The newspaper men of the Arkansas valley and neighborhood adjacent thereto are to be entertained in Pueblo on March 14 by the pen pushers of the 'Little Pittsburgh." D. D. Seerie has been appointed receiver of the People's national bank, of Denver, in connection with litigation in which that institution is involved with the People's savings bank. Professor J. D. Caldon has been investigating the deposits of tin near Morrison and reports that the ore is true cassitorite. He has sent some samples to England in order to get tests made and interest English capital. William N. Byers has asked the Arapahoe county commissioners to pay over to the festival directors the $6,000 appropriated for the Festival of Mountain and Plain at once. The warrant will be paid over in a day or two.
