Description

Contemporary newspapers (Jan 13, 1933) report the St. Louis National Bank closed its doors because of heavy withdrawals following a string of nearby bank closings—a classic local contagion run. No articles provided evidence of a subsequent reopening; treat as permanent closure. An earlier garbled 1932 item suggests a shutdown/closure then as well, but the stronger, consistent evidence points to the Jan 13, 1933 run and closing.
