The Mercantile Trust Company, as agent for the National Bank of the Republic (now in liquidation), will sell at auction on Saturday, June 15, at noon, property situated in the North St. Louis railroad district, between Ferry and Penrose streets. This is a splendid chance for Investors, as it is a forced sale of really very valuable property. This company also announces that John C. Porter. who acquired the property on the north side of Market street between Twenty-third street and Jefferson avenue, has already graded the lot, preparatory to erecting modern stores and flats, and Mr. Porter secured this property from Hector A. Piednoir. the latter making a handsome profit on a holding of only a few days. Also, sale of residence No. 5062 Maple avenue, a handsome ten-room house, erected on lost 32x137 feet. for $5,800. Mrs. Sarah J. Mahaffey, the purchaser, will use the property as her residence. John Davies, the builder. is named as the grantor. On Saturday, June 15, at 4 p. m., the Mercantile Trust Company will sell at auction fifty-five lots in Lohmeyer Heights, on the grounds. This is a forced sale of real estate, owned by the old National Bank of the Republic, to wind up its affairs. It is thought there will be some bargains. The lots are at the end of the 5-cent fare on the Kirkwood division of the Suburban Railway. The Mercantile Trust Company, which has been doing an active business In its real estate department the last few months, effected the increase of its capital stock last week. The resolution was voted on some time ago, but became. effective only June 5. this company now having a capital and surplus of more than three and a quarter million dollars. The Mercantile Trust Company has -concluded a lease with the Lammert Furniture Company, on behalf of the Louisville and Nashville Railway, of six three-story buildIngs on the east side of Broadway, just south of Cass avenue. The buildings are part of a block of sixteen. and run through to the L. & N. tracks. They will be used by the Lammert company for warehouse purposes. the facilities for handling freight being extremely good. A. N. Baker, the architect, has made arrangements to remove portions of the dividing walls, SO as to convert the block into one huge warehouse.
