BANK OF BEVIER, MO., CLOSED BY DIRECTORS
Action Due to Frozen Assets and Slow Collections.
By Associated Press. MACON, MO., February. 25.-The State Bank of Bevier was closed today by order of its Board of Directors. The closing was said to be due to "frozen assets" and slow collections. An effort will be made to reorganize the bank, which was organized in 1892. It will be impossible to determine the condition of the bank until after an investigation of the assets shall have been made. J. G. Hughes, vice president of the Trust Company of City, former Commissionor of Finance, had been here for several days trying to adjust the affairs of the bank. He had taken personal Interest in the bank since he started working in It as boy, eventually becoming its president. There was no run on the bank and the closing caused no excitement. J. F. Richards of Bevier was president and W. A. Rowland was cashier. The last statement showed deposits of $208,000 and loans of $167,000,
