MAN KILLED MISTAKEN FOR BURGLAR; WAS ON HUNT FOR GASOLINE PRINCETON. Ky., Nov. 24 (By A. P.)-As a result of the slaying of Robert Clayton, which he claims was due to the latter being partially deaf. Edward Ladd, a farmer, was held under guard to the March grand jury hero today. Clayton ran out of gasoline near Ladd's farm and went there to telephone. The story told at the coroner's inquest was that Clayton did not hear Ladd call out to know who knocked. but went back to his car, saw a light in the farmhouse and approached again. Ladd said that, getting no response to his calls to know what was wanted. he fired from a window. as he feared he would be robbed.
