LIQUOR MEN ATTACK BANK Incensed by Cashier's Temperance Work, Start Run. Washington C. H., Ohio, April 9.-Because the cashier allied himself with the temperance element at Lynchburg, the saloonkeepers of the town tried to wreck the Lynchburg bank yesterday. The arrival of $50,000 from Cincinnati late in the afternoon enabled the institution to weather the storm. William Stautner, cashier of the bank. was warned not to take part in the anti-saloon fight, but despite threats he became one of the temperance leaders. Saturday saloonkeepers and their friends started a run on the bank and withdrew $20,000.
