PORT WASHINGTON, Wis., Jan. 26.-The statement of the receiver of the broken Ozaukee County Bank shows its assets to be $134,582. The llabilities are $140,778. or these $113,623 are certificates of deposit. Wm. Alhauser, county treasurer, is caught for $10,948.

FIRES AND CASUALTIES. ASPEN, Col., suffered a fire loss of $13,000 Monday morning. THE cotton mill of Rumpf Brothers at Philadelphia was destroyed by fire Thursday morning; the loss is $75,000. AN Ashland, Wis., carriage dealer, S. A. Hayward, assign ed Friday to E. R.Jores, with liabilities, $28,000; assets, $18,000. By a collision on the Cincinnati Southern railroad Saturday several persons were killed and many injured. A FIRE at Kansas City on Monday, destroyed the office of the Evening Star and other buildings to the amount of $60,000. THE Church of the Redeemer (universalist), at Minneapolis, has been burned. Loss, $70,000. THE Omaha Furniture Co's. factory and the Omaha Brass works have been destroyed by fire. Loss, $40,000. FIRE in Henry Warders' boiler and conduit works at Philadelphia Monday morning caused a loss of about $100,000; felly insured. SHERMAN & BELL, the ol. auctioneers in Milwaukee, assigned Monday; liabilities, $26,000; assets not stated. THE Martin and Schuler blocks at Sioux City, Iowa, were destroyed by fire Thursday night, causing heavy losses. The insurance aggregates $85,000. THIRTEEN business places, including a bank and newspaper office. at Paw Paw, Mich., were destroyed by fire Friday morning. The loss is $72,000, with insurance of about $30,00. Anexhausted coal-pit in the Mount Washington district of Pittsburgh, Pa., is on fire and threatens to spread to adjoining jeits, honey-combing 8 densely in habited residence quarter of the city. BEAUPRE KEOGH and Davis' wholesale grocery house at St. Paul, with stock was entirely destroyed by fire Tuesday afternoon. The loss on the stock is $300,000, and on the building $75,000, both fully insured. No TIDINGS have been received of the missing steamer Britania, from Naples, with 850 steerage passengers on board. Fears are expressed that she has been struck by logs from the great raft, sunk or disabled. NEAR Bluffton, Ohio, Tuesday morning, a broken rail wrecked a Lake Erie and Western train. Several members of Frank Mayo's "Fordeck" company were wounded, Edwin Nalod losing a hand. Albert Gilbert, of Fostoria, Ohio, was killed. HUNDREDS of farmers and poor people lose heavily by the failure of Ozaukee County (Vail's) Bank at Port Washington, Wis. Senator Edward Blake's general store has been seized on judgments owing to the crash.
