COURT DETERMINES LIABILITY Bill of Peoples Bank Receiver to Enforce Stockholders' Obligations Granted A bill to enforce liabilities of stockholders in the former Peoples State bank of Scottville, instituted against seven defendants by Lewis G. Hammond, receiver of the bank. was decided in favor of plaintiff by Judge Hal L. Cutler in circuit court Saturday afternoon. Defendants, whose stock liabilities as listed in preliminary hearings are of amounts varying from $500 to $4,000, were instructed to in full. pay Judge Cutler's order was given early in the afternoon, the morning session having been devoted to arguments of counsel. Attorney Arthur W. Penny of Muskegon represented plaintiff and Attorney F. E. Wetmore of Hart appeared for defendants, named as J. Reader, E. E. Kobe, J. Jay Cox, Mrs. T. D. Smith, Mrs. H. Widmark, J. Eddy and Mrs. Effie Lehman.
