Pratt City New3 A special meeting of the members of the Methodist Episcopal church, South, will be held Thursday night to organize classes to systematize Sunday school and church work. Capt. Will Weir, ex-chief of police of Birmingham, will be present and address the meeting on the subject of organized work. After the business is concluded a social session will be held at which refreshments will be served. All members and those interested in church work are invited to attend. The Ladies' Aid society of the Baptist church of Pratt City will give a rhyme social at the church next Friday night. The purpose of this movement is to raise money to liquidate the church debt. Each member and friend is requested to bring a dollar and recite a rhyme telling how the dollar was secured. There is little change in the situation regarding the failure of the Pratt City bank. The receiver is looking over the situation and will probably give out a statement in a few days. Master Tommie Stovall yesterday entertained a number of little friends in honor of his eleventh birthday. The little folks had a most enjoyable time, games were played and refreshments served. Those present were: Misses Ella McRee. Leila Barksdale, Lila Hall, Dorris Latin. Lucile Peacock, Evelyn Barysdale, Carrie Rutledge, Isabel Mills, Mabel Griffis, Estelle Sheffield, Eva Mae Jackson, Jimmie Dunbar, Mattie Jennie Summerlin, S. Shields, Annie Ruth Smart, Masters Clarence Elmore, Ellis Barnard, Joe Lawrence Joe Jackson, Raymond Steele. Albert Harris and Albert Dunbar.

Pratt City News There will be a meeting of the depositors of the Pratt City bank held in the Eagles hall, over Vann's furniture store, next Wednesday night. All those who had money on deposit at the time of the suspension of the bank and all who are interested are urged to be present, as business of the utmost importance will be brought before the meeting. Rev. James Hanes, evangelist of the North Alabama conference of the Methodist church, will commence a revival Sunday night at the Methodist church, which will continue during the week. The Rev. Hanes is known as the 'big little" evangelist and has been very successful in his chosen work. There will be the regular morning service at the Baptist church but there will be no evening service as the congregation will unite in the revival serv. ices at the Methodist church. The regular Sunday services will be held at St. Catherine's Catholic church, the Rev. H. E. O'Grady officiating. There will be regular services at the Fourth Street Methodist church, morning at 11 o'clock and evening at 7:30. General Johnson of Birmingham will conduct the morning service at the Presbyterian church and Mr. Fuquay the service at night. J. B. Cole left yesterday for Mississippi, wher he will make his future home. Mrs. J. R. Scarboro is quite sick at the family residence. Miss Gadie Granger is spending the day with relatives at Ketona. The delegates from the state convention of the Woodmen of the World, held at Mobile, have returned home. T. P. Williams was elected head advisor, 'ne second highest office in the order.
